The Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dak Lak Province held a working session with Netafim Group (Israel) to discuss potential cooperation on precision agriculture solutions.
During the meeting, Netafim presented a range of solutions including irrigation and fertigation technologies, crop knowledge systems, integrated services, greenhouse cultivation, and digital tools and platforms. The discussion also covered community-based agriculture initiatives and sustainability measures.
Netafim’s leadership highlighted that effective solutions require detailed field surveys and assessments. Importantly, they emphasized that expert support and knowledge transfer—helping local teams and growers build skills—will be one of the most critical contribution areas, alongside providing equipment and machinery where relevant.
Dak Lak frequently faces dry-season water shortages, impacting thousands of hectares and reducing productivity and quality. Provincial representatives noted that successful implementation will also require clear mechanisms and policies to support farmers, and expressed interest in prioritizing remote and challenging areas to raise incomes and livelihoods.
Key highlights:
- Meeting focused on precision irrigation, fertigation, digital tools, and sustainable farming practices.
- Netafim emphasized the need for field assessments before tailoring solutions.
- Knowledge transfer and expert support were highlighted as key success factors.
- Dak Lak’s dry-season water shortages make efficient irrigation a high priority.
